ARTIST EXPRESSION OF INTREST
Welcome Artists!
Here you can submit your interest to work with us! Before we get into the nitty gritty, we would like to establish our code of conduct, as we want to foster a safe, professional, and collaborative environment that everyone is excited to be a part of.

MEGA DRIVE EVENTS
Easily the most important thing.
We want to create an environment where open, clear and concise communication is easy.
If you need help in any way, we want to know as soon as possible so we can find ways to make your vision become reality without compromise.
We also need to know anything you have planned prior to a performance, props and tech included. We’re not going to steal your ideas or intellectual property, we just need to know what you're planning so that we can make sure that you, patrons and staff are:
Safe
We stick to our shows schedules
We avoid damaging anyone's valuables and equipment
We maintain our relationships with the venues we work with.
We do our best to communicate as much information to our artists as quickly as possible.
In the interests of equity, we would definitely appreciate the same level of professionalism from you.
Really basic stuff:
If we ask you for files by a certain date, files are to be sent before the due date (we have zero objections to getting files before a due date, majority of the time that makes our job so much easier, and gives us more time to put into fun stuff like making your lighting cue up to your music!).
If we set a call time (aka a time where all artists must be in the venue), you will be at the venue prior to the time (in the entertainment industry, arriving 10 minutes ahead of call time is considered on-time).
We know and understand everyone has a lot of other things going on in their life and sometimes have other commitments or emergencies that come up.
Please communicate with us as soon as you can.
That may mean:
You need a due date extension because you've been sick
Work ran overtime which means you'll be late for the call time
You can't access your digital files because your computer broke
The sooner we know, the more able we are to accommodate you and prevent stress for everyone.
Remember: we organisers are artists and humans too.
We can't support you if we don't know what's going on.
Having to send multiple reminders or chasing you for files or waiting for you to arrive so we can start a show causes frustration for everyone.
We put deadlines in place because it means more of our time is devoted to creating bigger and better events for more artists, more often.
Mega Drive Events wants to create a safe and respectful environment for everyone to enjoy.
We do not condone behaviour that undermines the dignity, self-esteem, or productivity of any artist, staff member, or patron.
Performances involving distasteful stagecraft (i.e, cultural appropriation, racism) and/or antisocial behaviour towards cast, staff, and patrons will not be tolerated.
All artists, staff members and patrons are treated as equals in our spaces.
In order to create cohesive advertising, we request each of our artists to send us these files:
Two headshot photos with a background
Two full-body photos with a background
A headshot photo without a background
A full-body photo without a background
A general biography about yourself and/or group and your artistry
For specific file information and requirements, refer to this link.
No problem if you don't have these prepared right now, but you will need to in order to complete our Artist Agreement.
Also happy for you to send more photos and bios than we have requested here, but crucial we have the above at a minimum.
Additionally, it is crucial that you spread the word among your peers about the shows you're in.
We promote all of our shows on our socials and on printed materials, however there is no better advertising than word of mouth directly from the artists themselves.
If we don't put bums on seats, we can't keep putting on shows.
Mega Drive Events want to fully support every artist possible and help them share their artistry with the world.
Please inform us of any accessibility requirements you may need; we will do our best to accommodate you.
Please keep in mind that as neurodivergent individuals ourselves, we have our own accessibility needs and ask that they are also respected.
If our needs clash with yours, we will do our best to communicate with you to find solutions so we can work together.
